Our Eco Friendly Materials:
What can you expect from Recycle a Tee?
Soft, durable, certified organic cotton made entirely in the United States.
Eco-friendly yarn, dyes and auxiliaries certified by Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), a standard that ensures the organic status of textiles, from the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing.
And, of course, all our products are 100% recyclable for store credit.
Why organic cotton?
Cotton is grown on 3% of the world’s farmlands but accounts for 10% of the world’s pesticides and 25% of the world’s insecticides.
Pesticides and insecticides can end up in the ground, air, water and our food supply, and are linked to health issues like asthma and cancer.
A non-organic cotton t-shirt requires 1/3 of a pound of these dangerous chemicals – all of which can be avoided by choosing organic! learn more
certified-sustainable dyes and auxiliaries
What makes a dye more sustainable?
GOTS-certified low-impact dyes adhere to a strict set of human health and environmental criteria. They are tested to ensure that they are free of heavy metals, formaldehydes, chlorine bleaches, and silicone-based softeners.
By prohibiting the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, the GOTS standard aims to conserve biodiversity, environmental quality, and your health.
What makes an ink eco-friendly?
The majority of all ink used in screen printing today is a liquefied form of PVC called plastisol. PVC is one of the most toxic plastics on the planet, releasing poisonous chemicals such as mercury, dioxins, and phthalates, which are linked to cancer and birth defects.
RecycleaTee is committed to environmentally responsible printing. We only use eco-friendly water-based inks which are ultra-soft to the touch and have a much smaller impact on our environment. They are PVC-free, phthalate-free, and used on all of our printed products.
